5 Day Youth Group and Private Parties

Do you have a private group (such as scouts or any other youth group) ready for a wilderness adventure? We have a discounted 5-day deal just for them. We can also put together complete packages for any private group wanting to do a custom 3-4 or 5-7 day trip. Perhaps one dedicated to fishing? River journeys of any length or difficulty can be arranged.

5-Day Youth Group Itinerary This 5-day canoe expedition combines two of the most scenic rivers in the midwest to deliver a truly exceptional canoe adventure. Traveling down the Namekagon on this entirely portage free route, we will eventually converge with the larger Saint Croix. At the start of your expedition, you will experience gentle class one rapids, which will become bigger once we join the Saint Croix. While the rapids get more intense, first-timers are still absolutely safe to do this trip.

Day 1

Around 5PM our expedition members arrive at our main camp “Riverside Landing” on the banks of the Saint Croix River. After a hot and hearty dinner we will have a safety talk and orientation on what is involved in canoeing this waterway. Before dark the group will set up tents along the banks of the river and perhaps make a fire before turning in.

Day 2

The entire group will board a van which brings us up river. We launch our boats at the county road K Landing. Now, it’s only canoe power from now on! We’ll have time to get accustomed to the river and its gentle currents while practicing our canoe skills and taking instruction from your leader. At the end of this day, we will settle into a tent campsite along the banks of the Namekagon, setting up camp for a night under the stars.

Day 3

The next day begins with a hot breakfast. We will break down camp, load the canoes and head down river to continue our journey. This will be a full day with plenty of river hours. We will experience a good taste of small and swift class one rapids, with plenty of wildlife encounters. Once we reach the next river camp, we set up and make a gourmet dinner. This campsite is known for its picturesque riverside view.

Day 4

Get ready for another big day on the water! There will be a few gentle whitewater rapids at first and the fun ramps up a bit more in the afternoon. Things pick up speed as we near the confluence of the Saint Croix, which by now you will be fully prepared for. Having left the Namekagon and entered the Saint Croix the river widens out substantially. We make our way down this new majestic river until we are back at Riverside Landing which is our take out and home base. Once again we pitch our tents next to the water and settle in for another evening of stargazing.

Day 5

Finding ourselves back at our Riverside home base we can have big breakfast and an easy morning before getting packed up. We will say our goodbyes and wrap things up at 11:00AM. What an adventure!
